Sep 3rd meeting - DEVELOPMENTS AT NORTH HOWDEN - George Wright and Richard Partington

The proposals for several hundred houses off Station Road on the northern edge of the town are likely to have a huge impact on the population, services and infrastructure of Howden. Find out more from the representatives of the consortium taking this forward and have your say!

LATEST PUBLICATION - THE BURNEY STREAMLINE CAR by Bernard J. Nield

The prototype of this revolutionary car was designed in the late 1920s by Sir Charles Dennistoun Burney. he was Managing Director of the Airship Guarantee Company constructing the R100 Airship at Spaldington near Howden. Only a few cars were produced at the Cordwallis works, Maidenhead, none of which are thought to survive. The design was later developed inder licence by the Crossley Motor Company as the Crossley Streamline. Of these, just one complete car is known to exist, owned by Lord Montagu and kept at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu.
